Robot finds likely melted fuel heap inside Fukushima reactor

TOKYO (AP) — Photos captured by an underwater robotic confirmed large deposits believed to be melted nuclear gasoline overlaying the ground of a broken reactor at Japan’s crippled Fukushima nuclear plant.

Throughout this week’s probe, cameras mounted on the robotic confirmed in depth injury attributable to the core meltdown, with gasoline particles blended with damaged reactor elements, suggesting the troublesome challenges forward within the decades-long decommissioning of the destroyed plant.
